Bums on Seats is a fast paced comedy about fellowship and friendship. A heartwarming tale of four northern british wrestlers who attracted millions of adoring viewers to Saturday afternoon television.
There was nothing bigger than TV wrestling in the 1980’s on TV’s world of sport. Our heroes have fans up an down the land but struggle to make ends meet because the pro wrestling game was promoted with an iron grip by a clique of unscrupulous promotors, unappreciative of the blood sweat and tears shed by the wrestlers who made this noble sport so popular.
This story is about grappling and chewing on the shitty end of the stick whilst others profited from their hard work. It’s an everyman story packed full of salt of the earth characters, some saltier than others, as they wander from crappy venue to crappy venue to entertain their doting fans
SET IN THE INDUSTRIAL HEARTLAND OF WEST YORKSHIRE, THIS FILM NEVER LETS UP AS WE GET A UNIQUE INSIGHT INTO THEIR HARDSHIP FROM TATTY VENUES TO THE CLAPPED OUT OLD BANGERS THEY DROVE TO GET THEM THERE, WHERE THEY NOT ONLY GRAPPLE WITH OTHER WRESTLERS, BUT ENDURE THE FANS WHO GET PLEASURE OUT OF TRYING TO ASSAULT THEM AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY.
